Welcome to the chatterings of a big kid...
WHY?
I honestly couldn't say...
I stumbled across Hey Duggee whilst trying to placate a crying infant. It was 5 in the morning, switched on the iplayer, and chose something at random. She stopped crying and took in the bright colours, simple lines and happy voices, and got hooked.
Since then, it's become our go to soother, and because she's sat there watching, I end up watching it too.
And then I quote it.
And walk round going "A Woof".
And then realise I need to get a life.
But at the same time, there is something just so Britishly Brilliant that makes it appeal to grown ups - the self deprecating humour, the pop culture references, the warm tones of Alexander Armstrong, or the fact the characters themselves are lovable and genuinely love each other. They accept each other for who they are, warts and all, just as we do with our kids, too.
SO. MANY. REFERENCES...
Hey Duggee has definitely been created with both kids and adults in mind - there are so many pop culture references that go above my kids heads, but trigger a memory in me. Sometimes I have to go off and investigate the little mindworm that's been planted there. Whether it be images, music or narrative, it's started something. Sometimes there can just be so many it's hard to keep track of them. That's why I decided to build this site. For no other reason. No one will ever visit this page but at least it's keeping me busy.

Honestly, I'm not obsessed...
Most other parents (usually dads) I speak to also recognise the mindworms and pick up on other references I've missed, sometimes within the same episode. This is not an exhaustive list (yet), so if you see something I've missed, please get in touch.
